Over 300,000 party animals can’t wait to get down to Monkey Business!

February 19th, 2019 - Melbourne, Australia

You’ve clashed in history, you’ve clashed on a beach, you’ve clashed here and there and everywhere, but I’ll be a Monkey’s uncle if you’ve ever seen a Critter Clash!

Critter Clash has been described as an excellent mix of deckbuilding and Angry Birds style slingshot gameplay, addictive team building, and of course critter clashing. The PvP treetop battling game, Critter Clash, smashed internal expectations with over 300k players joining their pre-registration campaign on Google Play.

In Critter Clash players must build and battle a team of animals. Critters hang out in the jungle and can be knocked down with a slingshot mechanic, letting fly all sorts of projectiles. Players can upgrade their animals and expand their team by playing ranked matches and winning more different animals.

The team behind marketing and PR business, Lumi Consulting have turned their attention to co-development with focus on humor, community and customisation. Critter Clash is Lumi Interactive’s first foray into co-development and an ambitious move in the current climate of mobile games. The team aren’t building a lifestyle business, they’re aiming to make a million dollar game.

Entering the PVP mobile space is a big challenge but I’m really encouraged that a small company with three female founders, and a game about cute animals shellacking each other out of trees is getting people excited!” - Katie Stegs, Marketing Director

In the wake of industry layoffs at Activision, the collapse of Telltale and instability on home soil here in Australia, there are a lot of questions around on what’s in store for the games industry in 2019. As a business with founders from marketing and data science backgrounds, our team have quite a different approach to finding scalability and success in the modern marketplace.” - Lauren Clinnick, C.E.O

When the market is so saturated with the big players, you need every advantage that you can get.  We’ve prioritised having a data scientist and analytics engine in-house, and act on that for every one of our sprints. Our data informs us how well players are liking our game, how much we can afford to spend on UA, and when to spend it. It helps us work smarter, not harder.” - Christina Chen, Chief Game Officer.

To celebrate their pre registration campaign, Lumi Interactive is giving beta and pre-registered players the Founder’s Pack in-game gifts as a thank you for their support. After finding success in China, developer Jump Games partnered with Lumi Interactive in 2018 to bring Critter Clash to western audiences. Beta and Early Access players have enjoyed in-game partnerships with Australian brands such as bellabox, and plenty of in-game events are planned to come.
