Youth Week Career Showcase to Help Young People in Western Sydney Kickstart their Career

Announcement posted by MTC Australia 27 Mar 2019

MTC Australia is pleased to announce it will be hosting a Youth Career Showcase: #YourFutureNow, to be held during Youth Week 2019 in Auburn on Thursday 11 April.

MTC Australia has partnered with Cumberland Council and Auburn Youth Centre to bring the young people of western Sydney #YourFutureNow. The Youth Career Showcase aims to connect young job seekers with local employers and education providers, answer some big questions about what today’s employers are looking for, and provide practical support to young people as they embark on the next stage of their lives.

A range of local employers, education providers and community organisations will be there on the day, including Auburn Youth Centre, Ted Noffs Foundation, Bankstown Sports Club, HVTC Apprenticeship Centre, NRMA, JobGetter and High Street Youth Health Services.

Bankstown Poetry Slam co-organiser Yasmine Lewis will lead a poetry slam – Yasmine was named Bankstown’s Woman of the Year in 2017, and has a long track record of helping empower young people. Other fun activities include a drumming workshop and lucky door prizes.

There will be two employer-led panel discussions, including one that answers that all-important question: what are today’s employers looking for?

Entry is open to the general public.
