EXTERITY EXTENDS SONY PARTNERSHIP WITH BUILT-IN CHROMECAST SUPPORT

Announcement posted by Sony Australia Visual Presentation, Digital Signage and Home Cinema Projection 02 Apr 2019

Consumers and hotels benefit
Exterity and Sony today announced that they have been working closely together to achieve seamless integration between Exterity’s ArtioGuest® interactive guest experience portal and the latest Sony BRAVIA® professional TVs, which have Chromecast support built in.

The latest Sony professional TVs benefit from built-in Chromecast functionality, enabling users to easily share content from subscription services, such as Netflix or YouTube, from their mobile device directly to the Sony screen. This removes the need for a Chromecast dongle and other external 3rd party devices and services, simplifying ongoing support and maintenance. ArtioGuest, with its direct access to the Sony built-in Chromecast functionality, securely connects Sony TVs, Chromecast services and the guest’s mobile device, while protecting the user’s personal data.

This latest collaboration is part of an ongoing partnership as the two brands strive to offer first-class service to hotel operators and their guests.

Commenting on the new integration, Jamie Hind, Regional Director for Asia Pacific at Exterity said, “ArtioGuest is the basis for us moving more into accommodation across Asia Pacific across a number of sectors including hotels, cruise ships, healthcare and aged care; it’s a diverse industry for us and we have the flexibility to address both shared and differing requirements. Discerning, tech-savvy travellers expect a ‘better than home’ in-room technology experience, so it’s been exciting to work with Sony to integrate ArtioGuest with the built-in Chromecast feature of their hospitality TVs.”

Daniel Hancox, Sony Professional Solutions Australia & New Zealand, Group Manager - Business & Institutional Solutions said; “Since announcing our partnership last year, we’ve jointly been focusing on the hospitality market, based around the strength of the product solutions we both have, and seeing how we are exceeding the expectations of end users by what we’re presenting together. This includes Chromecast onboard in our Sony BRAVIA professional range, which enables guests to bring what they’re used to at home into the hotel room and cast seamlessly to the TV. It represents a big leap forward in terms of technology from where it is today - it’s where the future lies and what our customers are demanding.”

Exterity and Sony will be showcasing their integrated solutions at a number of key events across the Asia Pacific region, including a series of Sony technology roadshows and InfoComm SEA in Bangkok (15-17 May 2019). For more information, please contactsonypro.SANZ@sony.com
