Four celebrated Australian made gift and corporate gift collections

MEDIA RELEASE

April 2019

Sunshine Coast based online retailer, Australia Gift Shop gratefully celebrates four of its collections of locally made gifts and corporate gifts, on a daily basis. These Australian made product collections help to fulfil a strategy to keep more Aussie corporate and personal shopping dollars in local circulation and to promote Australian made authentic Aboriginal art products in the corporate and retail worlds.

The four Australia Gift Shop gift and corporate gift collections include Aboriginal art coasters and placemats, boxed boomerangs and clapsticks, Don Sheil metal art tableware and fourthly, Bush Elements skincare and body care products. The first three collections mentioned in the previous sentence are comprised of many objects that feature original and authentic Aboriginal art illustrations incorporating popular Australian icons including the emu, echidna, goanna, platypus, turtle, barramundi, brolga, koala, kangaroo, crocodile and flowering gum.

Traditional Aboriginal hunters and gatherers have been painted by the Aboriginal artists in several of their designs displayed on the cork-backed tableware pieces in the gift-boxed coaster and place mat sets. Australia Gift Shop has sold the Indigenous art coasters and place mats online for almost 19 years, since August, 2000. The first sale, which was online, was actually two sets of coasters with the “Hunters and Gatherers” designs to the USA. This distinctively Australian Aboriginal art homeware product is still available in the Coasters category at this iconic online Aussie gift shop.

Adrian King, Founder and Manager of Australia Gift Shop said that the addition of the range of gift-boxed Aboriginal artifacts, namely, boxed boomerangs and boxed clap sticks with display stands in 2006, was another step forward on his mission to broaden the Aboriginal art design market (as separate from the gallery / auction market for collectible artworks on canvas by major artists). The significant step forward involved extending this market beyond Australian souvenir touting into the corporate landscape. The options of custom engraving of the brass plaque on the display stand, and logo printing for events and companies were also added at this stage. The rapid uptake of these options by event professionals clearly indicated that the expanding foray into corporate gifting services was met with open arms.

The Founder of Australia Gift Shop further stated that “demand for Australian-made gifts of style that are genuinely representative of Australia’s cultural uniqueness is growing. We know that foreign business travellers visiting Australia for international industry conferences and corporate events are educated and worldly-wise with the level of awareness to distinguish between culturally authentic Indigenous artefacts, on the one hand, and tawdry, cheap copycat souvenirs made outside Australia, on the other hand.” Australia Gift Shop’s Aboriginal gifts and Aboriginal art corporate gifts are exclusively Made in Australia, while also authentic, in that the Aboriginal art designs are created by Australian Aboriginal artists.

Australia Gift Shop’s Aboriginal art gifts and corporate gifts have been designed and manufactured in Australia, are registered with the Australian Made Campaign and include the triangular green and gold kangaroo logo, which is a registered certification trademark for products that are Made in Australia.

The third gift collection celebrated by Australia Gift Shop is the Don Sheil metal art tableware range. These exquisite handmade pieces are crafted by artisans at the Don Sheil studio in Melbourne. They are seriously popular as executive gifts, corporate gifts and luxury gifts of discernment for very special occasions and/or very special people. This collection includes alloy plates and bowls that are etched with a variety of Aboriginal art designs and Australiana designs. Aside from the option to custom engrave these charming items, elegant gift packaging is also available. This boutique range became part of Australia Gift Shop’s corporate gift offerings in 2011.

The fourth gift collection gratefully celebrated by Australia Gift Shop is a range of quintessential Australian gifts for women. This consists of a branded selection of skin care and body care products called Bush Elements. These gentle personal care creams, lotions and soaps are dyed-in-the-wool Aussie products that are Australian gifts for your skin with all-Aussie ingredients including lanolin (from sheep’s wool) and macadamia oil, plus vitamin E and sunscreen. These body care products are formulated to restore skin quality during and after suffering the harsh conditions of the Australian Outback. They are never tested on animals during the formulation process. Being the newest of the four celebrated gift collections, Bush Elements body care products were introduced to Australia Gift Shop in 2011.
