InterSystems Invites Bendigo Health to Join TrakCare Global Reference Program

Announcement posted by InterSystems 10 Apr 2019

BENDIGO, Australia, April 10, 2019   Executives from global software company InterSystems, including CEO, founder, and owner Phillip T. (Terry) Ragon, and head of Asia Pacific business, Luciano Brustia, today visited Bendigo Health to announce that the state-of-the-art hospital has been selected to join the international reference site program for InterSystems TrakCare™.

TrakCare is a unified healthcare information system that facilitates streamlined, shared workflows across care settings and provides a unified record for each patient.

“InterSystems is excited to partner with Bendigo Health,” Mr. Brustia said. “At InterSystems, we are passionate about innovation.  Bendigo Health is part of a vibrant community of customers spanning 26 countries who are using TrakCare to improve the patient experience, improve patient safety, and provide efficiencies for their care teams. Bendigo Health is more than a hospital; they are a leader within their region, and I am pleased that an organisation of their size with a diverse population to serve has accepted the challenge of becoming a reference site.

“Adding Australian representation to our international program is a demonstration of our commitment to Bendigo and to our other Australian customers. I am excited about helping the Australian health care industry enhance its already world class system,” Mr. Brustia said.

Bendigo Health CEO Peter Faulkner said he was excited about the development of a shared electronic patient record within Bendigo Hospital and that he looked forward to a strong partnership with InterSystems.

“I am delighted that InterSystems have chosen Bendigo Health to join their reference program. Bendigo Health is firmly committed to becoming a digital leader and delivering on our vision of Excellent Care. Every Person. Every Time.  Joining the reference program will challenge us to stay at the forefront of digital innovation and ePR best practice,” Mr. Faulkner said.

“Bendigo Health chose the TrakCare product for an electronic patient record after a thorough assessment process. We wanted a product that catered for our diverse service mix and that supported the work practices of our clinical teams. We will take delivery of the configured product in September and begin working through our implementation plan, which includes technical testing, user acceptance testing and training. Once this is complete, we will go live some time in 2020,” Mr. Faulkner said.

Electronic patient records enable the digitisation of paper processes such as ordering medications, referring patients for pathology or x-ray, and requesting further treatments such as physiotherapy.  This supports the delivery of safer care for patients and provides a platform for digital transformation.
