Highly automated intelligent imaging system sets new standards in skin cancer diagnostics at the “24th World Congress of Dermatology”
FotoFinder Systems GmbH, one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical imaging systems for dermatology, announces the introduction of the bodystudio ATBM master. A further development of the Automated Total Body Mapping (ATBM®) technology developed by FotoFinder, the system enables the use of Total Body Dermoscopy for the first time.
The core of the new system relies on the intelligent interaction of hardware, camera technology and specialised software. In addition to the platform for skin cancer diagnostics, the device offers modules for hair diagnostics and aesthetics, as well as for the management of psoriasis patients using the PASIscan.
The new technology will the way in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the technology for early skin cancer detection. The system will be presented to experts for the first time from 10 to 15 June 2019 at the "24th World Congress of Dermatology" (WCD) in Milan. Interested parties will find the system at booth no. G59 at Milano Congressi (Viale Eginardo), GATE 2.
A new dimension in the "whole skin” control of birthmark patients
The FotoFinder bodystudio ATBM master offers optimised skin cancer diagnostics in the form of Total Body Dermoscopy. With the help of extremely high-resolution (50 megapixels), polarised and specially processed full body photos (RAW format), the structure of skin lesions can be evaluated by physicians on the basis of a clinical image.
In addition, high-quality video dermatoscopes allow an even deeper visual journey into the smallest cell structures of the skin - with up to 400x magnification. The integrated, fully automated Bodyscan technology identifies existing skin lesions out of the total body image and arranges them according to their relevance. This enables the physician to identify atypical moles or lesions – the “ugly duckling sign” - that are different from the others at first glance. Modern encryption technologies and a new user administration also ensure data protection-compliant work and the protection of sensitive patient data.
The earliest possible diagnosis saves lives

Artificial Intelligence meets human experience
The AI-based expert software Moleanalyzer pro supports the physicians in the analysis and risk assessment of skin lesions. The system is based on one of the most powerful deep learning algorithms that have been evaluated in clinical tests so far. In the "Man against Machine"* study conducted at the University Hospital of Heidelberg, the FotoFinder algorithm achieved impressively high scores for sensitivity and specificity and can compete with experienced dermatoscopy experts in terms of its diagnostic quality.

All FotoFinder systems are manufactured in FotoFinder`s own production facility in Bad Birnbach, Bavaria (Germany). FotoFinder is certified according to DIN EN ISO 13485:2016 and has already received several awards for corporate management and design.
