A WOMAN’S SONG WARMS HEARTS AT HOTA

Announcement posted by HOTA 15 Jul 2019

Five remarkable Australian female artists will be collaborating in an exclusive one-off concert at HOTA on July 27 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Gold Coast MothersMilkBank Charity.
This milestone commemorates a decade since the doors to their purpose-built facility first opened, providing screened and pasteurised donor mothers’ milk to families where the mother’s own is not available.

To celebrate this momentous anniversary and all that this remarkable charity do to save the lives of vulnerable babies, HOTA is hosting an uplifting and deeply moving concert – A Woman’s Song – produced and directed by Gold Coast performing artist and former mother’s milk donor, Nadia Sunde.

This soulful concert will also feature the songs and voices of five other female artists, including 2016 Artist of the Year Marcia Howard (Goanna & The Voice); experienced blues, jazz and folk singer-songwriter, Zardi; multi-award winning and international renowned chanteuse, Parissa Bouas (The Hottentots); and Rebecca Karlen, with musical accompaniment by renowned Brisbane-based four-piece jazz and world music ensemble, Estampa.

Producer and Director of the concert, Nadia Sunde, said this event was a timely opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate this wonderful cause.

“A group of extraordinarily soulful women are bringing their voices together in an effort to raise awareness, funds and the roof in this celebration of community as a powerful force for positive change,” she said.

“I’m thrilled to be performing alongside these talented women at such a fantastic local venue in support of a charity that does so much for Gold Coast families and the community.”

“As a former donor myself, it’s a cause very close to my heart. Audiences can expect to feel their spirits stirred, moved and left soaring as we prepare a concert of exceptional quality and heart,” said Nadia.

“We all feel passionately about the MothersMilkBank and can’t wait to celebrate their 10-year milestone with an unforgettable musical event.”

Acclaimed for her powerful stage presence, warm and soulful tunes, Nadia is an accomplished songwriter, cabaret artist, theatre actress, comedienne and former radio presenter, who effortlessly creates moments and connections with her audience.

A Woman’s Song will take place in the Lakeside Room at HOTA on the evening of Saturday 27th July at 7.30pm.

Audiences are encouraged to wear a flower in their hair or on their shirt, as a mark of love and respect for the vulnerable babies and to support the MothersMilkBank charity.
