WA fintech Fair Go Finance expands in Mandurah with vision for future tech hub

Announcement posted by Fair Go Finance 25 Jul 2019

Perth-based fintech Fair Go Finance is expanding and growing rapidly in the non-bank lending sector and as part of the next phase of their development has launched a new Tech Hub in Mandurah, regional WA.

Creating eight new technical and operational roles, the investment increases the Fair Go Finance team in Mandurah to more than thirty people, the largest resource for the business, and adds to their existing contribution of $2m in annual payroll into the region.

The Tech Hub will fuse a team of technical experts together to drive innovation in financial software development and allow Fair Go Finance to continue to improve and provide real-time access to services for their Australia-wide customer base.

Paul Walshe, CEO, Fair Go Finance who founded the company ten years ago in Mandurah, says the Tech Hub is not only about investment in new technology, but about contributing to the growth of the local economy.

“Mandurah is rapidly becoming a centre for technical expertise and is attracting more and more experts who have the right skills and can support us in driving innovation in the fintech space.

“I would encourage governments, particularly the WA state government, to do more to invest in the economic growth drivers, beyond what interest rate reductions can deliver, to attract and support companies and people in places like Mandurah.

“We are committed to growing our business in Mandurah and have a vision for it to be the ‘Silicon Valley’ of WA. Our aim is to have a specialised team of technical innovators providing our customers with fast and secure access to non-bank personal loans via the latest financial technology,” said Mr Walshe.

Backing these sentiments, Mayor Rhys Williams, City of Mandurah, conveyed his seal of approval at the official launch, when he met the new expert tech team behind this growing local business.

“The vision for the 21st century Mandurah is that we continue to grow as a place with a culture of pushing the limits and doing things differently, however, to do this we need a solid eco-system wrapped around innovation.

“We need businesses innovating and utilising the local resources successfully and Fair Go Finance is a prime example of how it can be done,” finished Mayor Williams.

Over the past ten years, Fair Go Finance have employed more than 120 people in WA, paid more than $13m in wages and superannuation, and invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in staff training.
