Interview: Western Australian Belinda Lay has her sight set on winning the national title of 2019 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award in Canberra

Announcement posted by Seftons 01 Aug 2019

Hello

With less than six weeks to go until the 2019 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award recipient is announced, Western Australian Belinda Lay is seeing if she can become the third West Australian to see if she can also scoop the national title. Last year’s national runner up and 2017’s national winner are both accomplished West Australian women.

Belinda is available to talk about her work involving using Internet of Things to geospatially track sheep with the help of specially designed collars likened to “fitbits”. She will use her Westpac bursary for her project which is designed to provide real-time information about the location, temperature and activity of sheep, using specially designed collars imported from Spain.

Please find attached further information about Belinda and the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award.
