Genie Solutions and HotDoc announce joint solution for specialists

Announcement posted by Genie Solutions 08 Aug 2019

Genie Solutions has today announced a new joint online appointment solution with Australia’s largest patient engagement platform, HotDoc, with the collaboration set to streamline the booking process for specialists and their patients.

The new alliance will see the market leading medical specialist software provider and HotDoc integrate their systems to create a unique patient booking capability -- providing transparent access to specialist schedules and availability.

Genie Solutions CEO, James Scollay, said the partnership goes beyond a simple product integration, with the solution set to dramatically improve efficiencies for specialist practices, creating a seamless user experience for workflow, customer support and billing.

“We’re very proud to partner with HotDoc and continue to drive our strategy of developing a platform that connects Australia’s fragmented health ecosystem. With this new proposition, we plan to improve the user experience -- for both patients and specialists -- by automating the patient journey, making specialist appointment bookings more efficient and accessible.

“We know from our customer research that this type of functionality is in high demand for specialists. Not only will it improve efficiency for specialists, but it will ultimately help to achieve better health outcomes for patients,” he said.

In line with its co-design philosophy, Genie Solutions will involve its customers in the product build -- ensuring the needs and requirements of specialists are front of mind throughout the process.

HotDoc CEO, Ben Hurst, said he was excited to partner with Genie Solutions and expand their already 13,500 strong GP member-base to include medical specialists.

“Our mission to improve the healthcare experience of everyone in Australia just took one big step forward. Patients often find it difficult to book with a specialist best suited to their needs in a timely and convenient way. Now, over three million HotDoc users will be able to book with their GP as well as referred specialists -- all in one app.

“Collaborating with Genie is an amazing opportunity to streamline communication among specialists and help them deliver an exceptional patient experience.”

The HotDoc and Genie Solutions integration is expected to be in market in early 2020, and will mark the first product to launch under the newly announced Genie Solutions Cloud Marketplace* -- a curated range of innovative technology solutions for specialist practices.
