Announcement posted by Foursticks 23 Jan 2003
Australian network performance specialist Foursticks has recruited a globally recognised expert in international channel development to lead its push into Asia. Vice President Sales & Marketing David Runacres will head the Adelaide-based companys new office in Singapore.
The former Vice President of International Distribution at Business Objects, Mr Runacres said his initial focus is to establish sales channels with network service providers and partnerships with network equipment manufacturers in Singapore, Greater China and Korea for the companys real-time network monitoring and control products.
Every kind of enterprise relies on the network, but its being steadily choked by unsanctioned use, from spam to recreational activities like music and video downloads, Mr Runacres said.
Foursticks has come up with a software based solution that can be implemented on a wide range of hardware platforms, such as routers, set-top boxes and even handheld devices. Equipment manufacturers, network service providers and telecommunications related companies have already demonstrated strong interest.
Mr Runacres brings more than 18 years of IT industry experience to Foursticks, including extensive experience and contacts in the Asian region. He has an enviable track record, having helped build multimillion dollar businesses in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong for companies such as Business Objects, Sequent and Hypercom.
At Business Objects, a global leader in business intelligence software, Mr Runacres was responsible for sales channels throughout Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. During his tenure, annual revenues grew by 300 percent.
Foursticks Chief Executive Officer Mr David Bohn said Mr Runacres success could be attributed to his commitment to bringing value to customers and partners, combined with his understanding of the different cultures of the Asia Pacific region.
David is well versed in architecting and managing viable, fast-growing global channels, Mr Bohn said. The Foursticks business model is an excellent match for his skills and he brings a very strong Asia focus to the company.
