Announcement posted by Internet Awards 2005 29 Oct 2005
Australias finest online creative and media agencies vied for top spot at The Internet Awards 2005 ceremony held last night at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay. Nearly 500 of the online advertising community gathered to watch Publicis Media take out the prestigious Best of Show and Most effective media strategy for the launch of a new product or service for its 20th Century Fox campaign, Fantastic Four. Mainstream agency Y&R Brands was also a standout this year, winning a Silver Star in two categories: Best Online Creative and Best Integration of Creative with an Offline Campaign.
Other Silver Star winners include Soap Creative for Best Online Promotion and Optimedia for Most Effective Use of Online Media Strategy.
The quality of entries this year was strong and its clear that the industry as a whole has developed and continued to push the boundaries of the online medium, said Patty Keegan, Chairman of Judges. We were delighted to see such a broad range of agencies make the finalists list this year clearly online is moving into the mainstream.
Kudos to all our finalists and winners, however we believe as an industry we still have room to grow further and we think we can expect to see even more creative, effective and innovative campaigns through 2006, said Ms Keegan.
