All the information for Carbonless Copy Paper

Carbonless Copy Paper, also known as non-carbon copy paper or NCR paper (No Carbon Required) is a coated paper that is specially designed to transfer the written part on the front onto the sheets underneath. It was firstly invented by the chemists Lowell Schleicher and Barry Green as an alternative to carbon paper.

The carbonless forms are ideal for printing forms with duplicate or triplicate copies or when there is a need to regularly change the text that is printed on the forms. Also, it can be used when there is no time to have an actual NCR book printed.

The name carbonless comes from the fact that it doesn’t require waxy carbon sheet in between the copies so that the text or image is transferred, instead, they are transferred from the chemical coatings on the paper which reacts when the sheets contact. When pressure is applied on the top sheet, the image is immediately transferred onto the other sheets beneath. That gives 2, 3 or more copies that departments or administrators can keep as a record of the signed copy.

The most common uses of the carbonless forms are as contracts, warranty forms, application forms, delivery dockets, multipart books and so on.

To even more facilitate your flow of work you can get carbonless books which are sets that enable you to easily create invoices, statements, delivery dockets and adjustment notes.

These books can be duplicate and triplicate in small or large sizes (small = 212mm x 147mm / large=275mm x 200mm) and you can carry them with you effortlessly. Each book contains a pre-printed layout of the invoices, purchase orders or delivery dockets so that when you provide the customer/client with a form it looks professional and consistent. Another good thing about the books is that each of them is sequentially numbered so that you can keep track of how many you have filled out. All of them are GST compliant and can also be used for accounting purposes.

There are also snap sets which are like the books with the difference of not being bound together and just act as loose duplicate or triplicate sets that can be put in a ring binder.

All the carbonless forms can be found in various colours, especially the duplicate and triplicate types. The white colour sheet, which is the original, goes for the customer/client, whereas the coloured sheets are for the supplier’s needs.
