VIC ICT for Women Collects Two Awards at the Annual #TechDiversity Awards 2019 Gala Dinner Taking Out the Highest Accolade of the Evening #TechDiversity Awards Champion
Melbourne – September 30, 2019VIC ICT for Women, inspiring women of all ages to enter, stay in and upskill in the ICT industry, today announced that VIC ICT for Women received the prestigious #TechDiversity Awards Champion of the year and their program Go Girl – Go for IT was recognised by winning the Media and Advertising Category. 

VIC ICT for Women achieved the highest accolade of the evening, #TechDiversity Champion Award, which was gratefully accepted by Board Member and Chairperson, Chris Skipper-Conway. This distinguished award recognises the wonderful work that the entire VIC ICT for Women team contributes to the industry and the passion which is reflected across their team, members and sponsors which has currently impacted over 4,000 people in the last two years.

The #TechDiversity Champion Award saw VIC ICT for Women recognised for their extensive program offering which is aimed at attracting, joining, retaining, progressing and promoting leadership opportunities for girls and women across the ICT industry. These programs are focused across all ages of women from young schoolgirls, women at university, those already in the industry, through to industry leaders and ensures that programs are impacting change and affecting diversity at all opportunities throughout a woman’s education and career. 

VIC ICT for Women also took home the media and advertising award for their Go Girl, Go for IT program which recognised extraordinary achievements in showcasing technology careers to young girls and busting the myth that tech is for boys. This program targets over 2,000 female students from years 5 to 12 across 73 Victorian schools and promotes STEM education, career opportunities opening the door for young women to hear from inspirational female role models in addition to getting hands on with the latest tech at their upcoming 2020 event.
