At HP World 2002, WRQ, Inc. today announced the release of WRQ Reflection 10.0, the latest version of its acclaimed line of Windows-based terminal emulation and PC-UNIX integration solutions. Offering the broadest platform support available, Reflection solutions are designed to help businesses access mission-critical data and applications on their host systems easily, securely and at reduced cost.
Reflection Facilitates Evolving IT Needs
Based on customer requirements and major market trends, the arrival of Reflection 10.0 is critically timed to address the most pressing needs of host system users. The new product line offers increased security capabilities, new Web infrastructure support for better management of host access from a Web portal, additional management controls and automation capabilities that help reduce errors, lower labor costs and accelerate the completion of routine tasks.
The new solution strikes a chord with the increasing number of IT departments seeking cost-cutting and management efficiencies through software and vendor consolidation a best practice also known as standardization. Reflection Administrators Toolkit: Separate admin tools that put control in hands of the system administrator and remove complexity from the user desktop.
Familiar and easy interface: Through a custom interface developed with the Microsoft Windows XP theme manager end users can display Reflection with a same look and feel as Windows XP. WRQ Reflection is the first host access product to offer this update.
Fully integrated Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), version 6.3, for streamlining tasks and customizing terminal sessions: Gives Reflection users the latest and best desktop automation tool available in the market today.
Increased security capabilities: WRQ has expanded its desktop security offering by adding an integrated OpenSSH client and enhancing the Kerberos client and SSL/ TLS Telnet encryption.
Reflection X forges new ground: The new version arrives to market as the first PC X server developed as a native 64-bit Windows XP application. This capability will enable users to benefit from the huge memory support, performance and scalability the new Intel Itanium processor, as well as the Windows XP 64-bit edition can offer.
