Since acquiring what was previously known as Mother Duck Strathpine in February 2018, Edge Early Learning Strathpine has recently undergone a full renovation, transforming the old learning spaces into brand new beautiful spacious areas with stunning natur
In order to welcome back families, as well as attract new ones, Edge has provided children attending the Strathpine centre with new state-of-the-art resources, including a tree house with a climbing net and slides, two swings, a bike track, free standing veggie gardens, sheltered outdoor communal meals area, a separate indoor-outdoor play area for babies and toddlers, water refill stations, and so much more!
Edge Early Learning Chief Executive Officer, Annie Bryce, said that the vision was to create a safe and welcoming environment for children and families, with an increased opportunity to improve learning outcomes.
“As a result of the refurbishment, children now have better access to modern indoor and outdoor learning areas, as well as modern resources, equipment and books,” she said.
“We’re hoping the improved learning spaces will encourage families to enrol and experience a fresh learning environment that has been tailored specifically to the needs of their children.”
Following the acquisition of the Strathpine centre, all staff remain employed with the Co-Director being promoted to full-time Director, in place of the previous Owner and Centre Director who was promoted to Centre Support Manager within the Operations Team of Edge Early Learning’s Support Office.
“The long-standing team members at the Strathpine centre have really good relationships with the families that attend there, and we think it’s important to maintain those and create strong relationships with potential families looking to enrol their children there.”
Edge Early Learning Strathpine is now part of a pilot group that is trialling a brand-new Physical Literacy program, which focuses on developing gross motor skills to have a positive impact on the child’s cognitive learning abilities.
“The outdoor play area has been expanded to allow room for more sport-based learning, which is proven to not only increase children’s literacy skills but also their social and emotional wellbeing by giving them the confidence to form strong relationships with their peers and teachers.”
