Cover-More recognised for app to keep employees safe during business travel

Announcement posted by Pilot PR 16 Oct 2019

Auckland, New Zealand, 16 October 2019: Leading travel insurance, medical assistance and employee assistance provider, Cover-More, has been listed as a finalist inthe Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance’s (ANZIIF) annual Insurance Industry Awards in the‘Innovation of the Year’ category.

The nomination recognised Cover-More in New Zealand for the industry-first launch of their Corporate Travel Insurance app, which helps corporate travellers and their employers, insurance brokers and agents easily manage business travel.

Key features of Cover-More’s Corporate Travel Insurance app include real-time safety alerts before and during their trip, ‘tap to call’ Cover-More’s 24/7 medical assistance team no matter where they are in the world, the ability to add travel companions to their policy, and lodge claims.

The app allows travellers to toggle on when they depart and toggle off when they return, so employers only pay for their travel insurance on the days they are travelling. It uses geo-fencing to record actual travel days in real time and calculate accurate premiums. It also eliminates paper-based processes for brokers.

On the launch of the app, Cover-More New Zealand CEO Bruce Morrison said: “We identified an opportunity to build an app that made business travel easier for everyone involved, but imperatively, enhance safety for our corporate customers before, during and after they travel.”

Winners will be announced at the prestigious New Zealand Insurance Awards ceremony on Wednesday 27 November 2019.
