This month, Ricoh Australia will launch the latest in its successful Caplio digital camera range. The Caplio RR120 is a fully featured, compact digital camera yet Ricoh believes it will offer the first-time digital user the best value for money on the Australian market. With 2.2-megapixel high resolution and a powerful 6x zoom, the Caplio RR120 will give those considering the move to digital the best functionality at an unrivalled price point.

The Caplio RR120 will be the third model launched in the exceptionally successful Caplio digital camera series. Like its stable-mates, the Caplio RR120 will deliver high quality performance, excellent value and remarkable style. As with the Caplio RR1 and the Caplio RR10; Ricoh's latest creation will appeal to consumers searching for a digital camera with a real difference.

The lightweight, 2.2-megapixel high definition CCD (charge coupled device) with 3x optical and 2x digital zoom is ideal for consumers who are tempted by digital but are wary of taking the first step. Featuring a lens at the center of the camera's body, this simple, user-friendly, point-and-shoot digital camera offers the familiar, trusted feel and a balance of the conventional compact camera yet all the advantages of digital at a truly affordable price.

Clark continues, "The Caplio RR120 has been specifically designed with the look and feel of a conventional compact camera, but retains the Caplio trademark ability to transfer files to a PC quickly and easily.

The Caplio RR120 enables users with all levels of expertise, to capture beautiful, true colour photographs that can be easily printed on a home printer. Its remarkable 2.2-megapixel CCD provides a range of image resolutions from 896x600 pixels to an impressive 1792x1200 pixels. Users may also pre-select one of three different compression settings that were specifically designed to optimise varying output requirements.

The Caplio RR120 features a 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 38 to 114mm on a 35mm camera), plus an impressive 2x digital zoom, for a combined 6x zoom that allows users to zero in on details within a frame. The bright 1.5-inch high-resolution TFT LCD provides an instant preview of photos taken and can play them back in a handy slide show or display nine-picture thumbnails.

Caplio RR120 is USB interface-compatible, which makes it a breeze to transfer digital images to a PC. It also accepts SmartMedia cards of up to 128MB making it capable of storing hundreds of images.

The Caplio RR120 is a simple and extremely user-friendly digital camera due in large part to its quick and accurate auto-focusing capabilities, automatic white balance and a superb built-in flash. Additionally, the RR120 boasts multi-mode functionality that delivers 16 continuous images in one frame, impressive 8cm macros, a selectable self-timer mode and a conveniently placed tripod hole at the bottom of the camera that gives photographers the ability to capture night-time pictures and creative works of art in its bulb mode.
