Peer to peer recognition

During 2019 the foundation ran a successful six-month online campaign, ‘The Hunt for a Hero’, #huntforahero to search for local South Australians. Nominations were collected online at www.hfgf.org.au and the evaluated against a set criteria in the five areas.  Winners were then advised personally by members of the Board and the recipients were often being taken by surprise.

‘The initial surprise, even a bit of skepticism of the recipients was then overtaken by a feeling of being overwhelmed and sometimes even quite emotional appreciation. We shed a few tears when we realized the change these award packages were doing for these inspiring local people.’, shares the Chair, Marina Pullin, ‘It is a deep part of our vision to help create a more connected community’.

2020 Awards – Kicking off in February 2020.

After the success of the 2019 campaign the foundation will open nominations online from February 1st, 2020 and continue until Nov 1st, 2020.  Full details are available at www.hfgf.org.au. The foundation is a registered charity and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
