INDIGENOUS YOUTHS DEADLY DANCE MOVES GO VIRAL

An Indigenous boy from Mount Isa has burnt up the local PCYC Youth Zone dance floor to the delight of onlookers, and the video has gone viral.
Despite eleven year-old Anton Sambo and his happy feet being newcomers to the Outback mining town, the welcome he received from PCYC has been warming.
Youth Engagement Officer Aimee Sewell said the video has been watched over 87 000 times on various Facebook pages and shared more than 150 times.
“We put the music on and off he went. He loves to dance and he learned from watching other people and YouTube,” Officer Sewell said.
Since Anton’s deadly dance moves aired he was invited as a special guest to watch the Mount Isa School of Dance end of year concert.
“He thoroughly enjoyed it and left even more inspired to dance,” Officer Sewell said.
The PCYC Youth Zone opened in September 2019 and runs activities on Wednesday and Thursdays from 4-6pm.
“Our aim is to break down barriers and build relationships between young people and Police and we do this by providing positive experiences in a fun and supportive environment.”
“It’s a very versatile and safe space,” she said.
The Youth Zone offers a range of activities such as box fit circuit, handball, soccer, obstacle courses, basketball and team challenges.”
