Network congestion costs millions, says new Foursticks State Manager

Announcement posted by Foursticks 14 Nov 2002

Real-time network performance monitoring and control could save companies millions of dollars, according to Martin Sheahan, the new State Manager of Victoria for Australian network performance software company, Foursticks.

Mr. Sheahan, former Southern Regions Manager for Nortel Networks Australian Enterprise Division, has joined Foursticks to focus on providing enterprise customers with a solution to a growing problem with next generation networking congested networks sapping productivity and costing companies millions of dollars.

The issue of network performance is well known within companies providing network products, Mr. Sheahan says.

However its also well known that the forklift approach to the problem bringing in truckloads of bandwidth isnt even a 'Band-Aid' solution.

A recent Gartner analysis shows that by 2006 the corporate WAN budget will double. Based on a conservative estimate, the study reveals enterprise bandwidth needs will rise by 14 to 16 times in the next three years to meet the needs of corporate WAN users.

What the Foursticks NP software does is create express lanes through networks, Mr. Sheahan says. When you talk to enterprise customers, they get the idea immediately.

They recognise that delivering guaranteed service levels to internal clients is a key business issue.

A network and communications specialist with more than 14 years experience, Mr. Sheahan says he has made the move to Foursticks based on the potential in the network performance market and on the enthusiasm and professionalism of the companys international team.

I have worked for several multinationals and its a good feeling to be building something in Australia and not depend on our masters in the US or Europe, Mr. Sheahan says.

The team has a range of extraordinary credentials to do the job, and the calibre of their existing customers such as Bridgestone, Santos and BRL Hardy is a graphic demonstration of their ability and the products future.
