Self-Funded Packages from Accent Home Care Keeps the Elderly Well & Independent

Announcement posted by Accent Home Care 27 Feb 2020

Accent Home Care is a division of TTHA which focuses on providing elderly home care services. Different home care packages cater to the specific needs of their clients with elderly support groups designed to meet their social needs.

Accent Home Care is creating opportunities for the elderly to continue enjoying their life at home. They cater to clients of diverse language and culture backgrounds and provide customised packages that suit their individual needs.

Accent Home Care helps their clients to stay in their own homes for as long as possible while providing them with professional assistance for daily activities. They assign a Personal Care Advisor who sit down with the family, listen to the needs and goals, and create an individualised and flexible care plan. The Care Advisor remains available to provide guidance and support, responding as the needs change.

There are four levels of home care packages available with Accent Home Care, dependent on their current situation. The difference between each package is the amount of funding that is allocated based on the level of care, one being the lowest and four the highest.

In order to be eligible for a government funded home care package, clients will need to contact My Aged Care and request an assessment. For assistance or enquiries, they are available on 03 8720 1338 or on 1800 200 422. My Aged Care is the Australian Government's starting point on the aged care journey. Clients who need help with day-to-day tasks around the house or need some respite care while the family or carer is away can access home care packages.

Home Care Packages (HCP) are one of the ways that older Australians can access affordable care services to get some help at home. They are designed for those with more complex care needs that go beyond what the Commonwealth Home Support Programme can provide. Home Care Packages can be an option if a coordinated approach is needed for the delivery of help at home - perhaps because help is needed with many everyday tasks, or the care needed is more complex or intensive.

The government is moving towards reducing wait times and improving lives. “The Australian Government has put a high priority on creating more home care services for elderly people, to help them to continue living in their own homes,” said Richard Colbeck, Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians in a statement recently. The number of approved home care providers increased by 3 per cent over the year from 896 to 926 providers said the Home Care Packages Program Data Report, released by the government that covers the period from 1 July to 30 September 2019.
