ConnXion joins Australias technology elite

ConnXion Limited [ASX:CXN], a leading provider of electronic document production and delivery solutions, today announced that the company has been selected by the Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) to join their showcase of technologies, after a formal review process by an independent panel of industry experts.
The ATS is supported by the Commonwealth Government through AusIndustry, set-up to promote Australia as a source of innovative technology and advanced skills. Through its website located at (http://www.ats.business.gov.au), the ATS program promotes Australian innovations to likely business partners, customers, licensees, investors and joint venturers partners from across the globe.
ConnXion markets and promotes the ConnXion Hosted Service, which uses an Application Service Provider (ASP) model enabling customers to remotely use ConnXion as its communications infrastructure to produce business documents such as invoices and statements and seamlessly deliver them to their customers via email, fax, short message service (SMS) and the post. Current clients include DHL, Smorgon Steel, Schenker and Budget Rent-a-Car.

The technology platform developed by ConnXion is branded FLEXML. This technology maintains a clean separation of data, logic and presentation to ensure reliability and ease of maintenance. It has been developed in pure Java and all data is represented in the form of XML and XSL documents. In particular, documents for transmission to recipients are defined using XSL:FO, an international standard promulgated by the World Wide Web Consortium, which is rapidly gaining wide acceptance in the industry as the best way of defining high quality, complex documents in a device independent manner.
We like to refer to ConnXion and its technology platform FLEXML as 'future proof'. It has been designed to provide an ongoing and evolving service that will survive, and indeed take advantage of, future technological changes such as new computer architectures, improved telecommunications mechanisms, advanced storage technologies and the delivery media of the future, stated Mr. Colvin.
