Leading Australian organisations select PeopleSoft's user productivity kit

Announcement posted by PeopleSoft 26 Aug 2004

Employee productivity improves by 20% post training
PeopleSoft today announced that 10 new Australian and New Zealand customers have licensed the PeopleSoft User Productivity Kit (UPK) since April 1st. Australian customers that have licensed the education solution over the last six months include: Australian National University, University of Western Australia and Central Queensland University.
The UPK solution enables PeopleSoft customers to develop, customise and deploy training and performance support content to their end-user communities. This provides end-users with the skills, knowledge and tools to instantly use PeopleSoft applications effectively, accurately, consistently and productively.
"PeopleSoft is constantly looking to provide more value to our customers," said David Webster, Managing Director, PeopleSoft ANZ. "One of the easiest and most cost effective ways is to speed up the adoption rates of users. The growing momentum behind the UPK shows that there is a demand for training solutions that ensure users are getting the most out of their system from day one."
The UPK is designed to make it easier to train staff using PeopleSoft software. It includes comprehensive instructor-led training materials, web-based training sessions, role-based performance support and complete documentation based on the business processes of the organisation. PeopleSoft also can provide generic UPK modules containing business process and system content that can be customised to suit each customer's specific needs.
Research has shown that PeopleSoft user productivity improved by an average 20 per cent after completing a PeopleSoft training class* and the UPK is making it even easier for customers to train their staff, customers and suppliers. Increasing an employee's productivity by 20 per cent is equivalent to eight - ten hours.
The University of Western Australia was the first organisation in JAPAC to license the UPK for approximately 500 users. A PeopleSoft customer since 1999, the university has been solidly expanding its use of PeopleSoft software over the last five years. So much so, that the user base has grown from 100 users in 1999 to 500 users today. In order to maintain the benefits gained from the current PeopleSoft system and build on the functionality it could provide, the university has expanded and upgraded the system.
"Thorough end user training as part of the upgrade rollout is vital," said Chris Rasmussen, Project Manager, Financial Services, University of Western Australia. "In the public sector, it is imperative that we ensure that our investments are maximised to their full potential and we can show the impact it has had on our organisation. Previously we have only focused training on those implementing the software, but we now see the benefit in having end users up to speed from the day the system goes live."
The foundation of UPK is the Developer. The UPK Developer serves as a single source development and customisation tool to enable rapid content creation and customisation.
