DDLS introduces (ISC)² Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification for IT Professionals

Announcement posted by Primary Communication 11 Mar 2020

DDLS, Australia’s largest provider of corporate IT and process training, is now offering the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification from (ISC)². The SSCP course gives IT support staff the skills they need to implement best practice cybersecurity in their organisation.

SSCP is the ideal certification for those with proven technical skills and practical, hands-on security knowledge in operational IT roles, such as IT administrators, managers, directors and network security professionals responsible for the hands-on operational security of their organisation’s critical assets.

The SSCP exam evaluates expertise across seven security domains which cover Access Controls, Security Operations & Administration, Risk Identification, Monitoring & Analysis, Incident Response & Recovery, Cryptography, Network & Communications Security and Systems & Application Security. Passing the exam proves candidates have the advanced knowledge and technical skills to implement, monitor and administer IT infrastructure using security best practices, policies and procedures.

Successfully completing the certification provides confirmation of a practitioner’s ability to implement, monitor and administer IT infrastructure in accordance with information security policies and procedures that ensure data confidentiality, integrity and availability.

Jon Lang, CEO of DDLS said, “The SSCP is ideal for anyone in an IT role looking to build on their IT skills and knowledge and demonstrate their understanding of cyber security concepts, while earning a globally recognised certification and creating new and exciting opportunities as they embark on a career in cybersecurity.”

“Once you earn your SSCP certification, you become an (ISC)² member and part of a professional global community of more than 140,000 certified cybersecurity professionals.  You also gain access to a full suite of benefits and resources for continuing education and professional development, ensuring your expertise remains relevant throughout your career,” continued Lang.

To qualify for the SSCP, candidates must have a minimum of 1-year cumulative, paid full-time work experience in one or more of the seven domains covered in the course. If professionals don’t have enough experience yet, one can still pass the SSCP exam and become an Associate of (ISC)² while earning the work experience needed and will have two years to earn the experience needed for SSCP certification.
