DDLS introduces ISACA’s Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) course for IT Professionals

Announcement posted by Primary Communication 17 Mar 2020

DDLS, Australia’s largest provider of corporate IT and process training, is adding to its already large and diverse cybersecurity portfolio, with the introduction of Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) training from ISACA.

The CISM certification enables IT professionals to validate their technical expertise in information security governance, program development and management, incident management and risk management.

The course is designed for mid-career IT professionals with at least three to five years of front-line experience, aspiring to senior management roles in IT security. The new course also addresses the need for management to understand cyber security and offers a professional pathway to help address the skills shortage in the field.

Jon Lang, CEO of DDLS said, “Completing the CISM certification provides executive management with the assurance that an individual has the experience and knowledge to offer effective security management and advice.

“With increased pressures to hire experienced cybersecurity professionals in Australia, we are seeing a demand in organisations wanting to invest and upskill their teams within the information security domain”.

The CISM certification was created by ISACA, a global professional association and learning organisation consisting of more than 165,000 members worldwide. ISACA’s constituents live and work in more than 180 countries and cover a number of professional IT-related positions in the disciplines of IS/IT audit, risk, security and governance as well as educators, consultants and regulators.

The CISM certification will be offered by DDLS as a four-day Instructor led training course delivering expertise in the four work-related domains; Information Security Governance, Information Risk Management, Information Security Program Development and Management and Information Security Incident Management.

“Successfully passing the CISM demonstrates an individual’s understanding of the relationship between an information security program and broader business goals and objectives. It distinguishes them as having not only information security expertise, but also the required knowledge and experience in the development and management of an information security program,” continued Lang.
