GOOD NEWS AS DOORS REMAIN OPEN AT OVER 80 LOCATIONS ACROSS NSW, WA AND QLD

Announcement posted by Zarraffa's Coffee 26 Mar 2020

Australian-owned Zarraffa’s Coffee is still trading in the majority of its store locations, ensuring people continue to have access to quality takeaway and drive thru coffee.

While unprecedented, the current restrictions imposed by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) still allow customers to pop into their local store or drive thru, supporting the majority of franchisee-owned businesses.

“With so much uncertainty at the moment, knowing we can still provide a simple cup of coffee to our loyal customers and while keeping our local businesses open, is a priority,” said Zarraffa’s CEO Marnie Sheldon.

All stores will also have a maximum allowance of people at each location, depending on the area within. The maximum number will be displayed upon entry, to comply with the 4m2 distancing measures.

Stores will implement markings on the floor to help guide customers with these new social distancing measures, have removed tables and chairs and placed signs around the stores to be as helpful as possible.

Ms Sheldon said that the implementation of the drive thru model in 2009 has laid excellent groundwork for operations and provided a framework for a large number of Zarraffa’s stores to cope with the trading restrictions.

“70% of stores are now drive thru, making things easier for customers but we are also heavily focused on how we can work with our shopping centre and strip mall locations to keep everyone’s doors open.”

“Some of our landlords have gone above and beyond to try and help us keep our doors open, particularly working together to meet these hard times with a united front.”

Ms Sheldon added that these are tough times, however people still want and need life’s simple pleasures – a daily cup of coffee and connection.

“Our businesses, are here for their communities, to provide a bit of (socially distanced) conversation and serve up that sense of normality, as people go about their day-to-day activities.”
