Local families set to have a brighter Easter

Announcement posted by Thurnham Teece 06 Apr 2020

A local initiative between Variety the Children’s Charity and Oasis Shopping Village aims to brighten Easter for families in the local area, each of whom will receive an “Oasis Essentials” Easter Hamper.

Helen Wilson, Centre Manager at Oasis Shopping Village commented on the initiative. “It’s undoubtedly a challenging time for all of us, doubly impacted for some of our local families who are struggling financially due to job cuts, sickness and disadvantage. We’re delighted that we can partner with Variety and applaud their philosophy that all children deserve the same opportunities in life.”

Each hamper will have Easter treats, Easter fun activities and essential food, as well as either a Coles Food shopping card or an Oasis Shopping card to the value of $25.

Katrina Fong Lim, the general manager of Variety - The Children's Charity NT commented: “Every child deserves the chance to be the best they can be, get the most out of life, regardless of their ability or background. It’s times like these where kindness and generosity mean a lot. Our families in need will certainly have a brighter Easter.”

Ms Fong Lim will receive the hampers at Oasis Shopping Village tomorrow Tuesday 7th April, ready for distribution from Wednesday April 8th April.
