Professional Body adds depth to their global operations with Executive appointment.
In a selection process over 12 months in the making, the Advisory Board Centre Board welcomes the appointment of Penny Ellenger in the newly created role of General Manager Australia.
Ellenger’s appointment was announced to Advisory Board Centre professional members in February 2020 and she commenced the role in early March 2020.
As the professional body for the global Advisory sector, the Advisory Board Centre key activities include research, advocacy, education and professional membership. With headquarters in Brisbane, the global membership base includes representation in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China and Canada.
“I first met Penny in her previous role with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and was impressed with her professionalism and member-centric focus. The General Manager – Australia role is a key part of our Leadership team and will continue to drive the advancement and adoption of best practice advisory boards in the Australian market,” said Louise Broekman, Advisory Board Centre Founder and CEO. “Penny brings a wealth of experience to the organisation and will add tremendous value to our professional members and the wider Advisory ecosystem.”

Prior to her role with the Advisory Board Centre, Penny served as State Manager – Queensland for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand for 8 years. Prior to the State Manager role, she was the Relationship Manager – Queensland with CA. The depth of Penny’s professional services experience extends across Australia and the United Kingdom with previous management roles with Hays Personnel.
Penny is a Board Member with breast cancer support and awareness charity SO BRAVE and an Executive Committee Member for ECOMAN by QPEC, which supports High School students to become business-ready through an intensive hands-on business management program.
Penny holds an Honours Degree from University of Portsmouth and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute.
