SMCs Distribution set for ANZ
SMC Networks, a leading solutions provider of networking hardware products, announced today the appointment of the Cellnet Group of companies as authorised distributor. Representing Cellnet in Australia, is IT Wholesale and Cellect IT in New Zealand.
Joining ASI Solutions in Australia and Agate Technology in New Zealand, Cellnet brings to SMC Networks a range of resellers not previously targeted be SMC. While ASI continues to focus on the telecommunications and OEM sector for SMC, IT Wholesale and Cellect will market to their existing customers base, the small to medium resellers. Although we have increased the number of brands we represent through recent acquisitions, said Santo Pappalardo, IT Wholesale General Manager, we still lacked a leading networking brand. SMC not only filled this space but also compliments these brands and the SME market we focus on.
After recently joining SMC Networks himself, Michael Calculli, SMC's Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, embarked on his first task to evaluate their current distributors and possibly appoint new ones. Having been in distribution for so long, the last thing I wanted to do was appoint distributors who compete head-on for the same business, I never understood that strategy, said Calculli. It makes more sense appointing distributors who assist you in targeting different sectors of the market, he said.
SMC is a well-priced, well-positioned networking vendor aimed at the small to medium business market. Calculli believes the distributor partners selected will do a great job. I am looking forward to working with my new distribution partners. said Calculli. We are offering these partners such a great program including very healthy margins and proactive marketing as well as a range of networking products for the desired markets, he concluded.
