Rockingham Montessori School: A T.E.A.M Approach to Learning

Announcement posted by Rockingham Montessori School 19 May 2020

Rockingham Montessori School is an independent school near the ocean in Rockingham, Western Australia. We are committed to Montessori philosophy and practice.
The Rockingham Montessori School was founded with the “Together Everybody Achieves More” (T.E.A.M) approach to education. It’s a philosophy that Tony Gillespie, adolescent program deputy principal at the school, said nurtures the entire child, while encouraging independence, respect and self-discipline.

The school offers opportunities for every stage of a child’s educational needs, from infants and toddlers to high school and alternative pathways to university or work. Youngsters are nurtured in multiple ways. Students are able to explore subjects that are of particular interest to them, along with their normal studies. Learning options are offered for before regular school hours, along with care after school, during holidays, and in-school and out-of-school hours.

The Montessori school Perth was founded in 1985 with the T.E.A.M approach to build a strong sense of community and an environment in which the needs of every child are recognized and encouraged. Children are naturally curious and students have ample opportunity to experiment in different areas that include art, dance, science and sports. The environment is conducive to meeting developmental needs of youngsters emotionally, cognitively, physically, and socially.

The Infant and Toddler program is conducted one day each week for youngsters age 1-3. Playgroups are offered three days per week. Children in the 3-6 age group can participate in The Children’s House at the independent school Perth. Youngsters crave independence and receive age-appropriate guidance in activities encompassing math and language to culture, technology, and practical skills for everyday life.

The Primary Program is available for youngsters age 6-12 and the Upper Primary Program is offered for students age 9-12. For students age 12-18, the Adolescent Program prepares individuals for their future. With the school’s high school alternative pathways, upon graduation students may choose to go directly into the work force, pursue a university degree, or take advantage of distance learning.

The T.E.A.M. approach at the Rockingham schools offers one of the greatest ranges of opportunities for children at every age. Classes are taught by highly-qualified educational professionals with a passion for learning that seek to ignite that same thirst for knowledge in every student.
