Rockingham Montessori School Offers Alternatives to In-Person Instruction

Rockingham Montessori School is among the learning institutions that are open after weeks of lockdown protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tony Gillespie, adolescent program deputy principal at the school, wants parents to know that hygiene is a priority and alternatives to in-class instruction are available.

The school’s administrators understand the reluctance of students to potentially expose themselves to the COVID-19 virus and online classes are available for students that don’t want to visit the school in-person. Elevated hygiene measures are a priority and all rules and recommendations are being observed, including social distancing. The school is maintaining close contact with parents on safety measures.

The pandemic has made many parents wary of sending their children back to school, even though the number of new COVID-19 cases has declined. The Montessori school Perth has always been on the cutting edge of technology and learning, offering students multiple alternatives to obtain a quality education with methods that best fit the students’ individual needs.

Operated by Our Place OSHC & Pre-Kindly, options are offered for before and after school, along with holiday care during out-of-school and in-school hours. A number of special events have been planned to which parents and students are looking forward. However, each event is subject to government restrictions, dependent on the evolving conditions of the pandemic.

The independent school Perth offers an Infant and Toddler program for ages 1-3 years; the Children’s House program for 3-6 year olds; a Primary Program for ages 6-12, and the Adolescent Program for students 12-18 years of age. The school is cognizant that not all students are on the same trajectory and has established alternative pathways for individuals to begin their lives in the larger world.

The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted learning for many students.
