New luxury candle sets style precedence for mosquito repellent

A new hand-crafted, all natural mosquito repellent candle range helps to keep the pesky bugs at bay, while adding a serious dose of style and glamour to your entertaining area.

Zanzara Luxury Outdoor Candles feature hand lathed Australian hardwood vessels, with a unique bee and soy wax combination candle. Mosquitos are repelled with an exclusive blend of six pure essential oils, featuring scents of Lemon Eucalypt and Rosemary.

With two stunning designs available - The Yamba and The Fraser – the timber candle vessels come in three sustainable material options: Limewashed Tasmanian Oak, Tasmanian Oak and Blackbutt.

Creator, Jennifer Codd said the aim was to create something beautiful yet functional.

“Our property in Queensland backs on to a creek so mosquitoes have always been an issue,” she said. “We used the traditional mosquito coils or cheap citronella options, but I always tried to hide them as they looked terrible. It made me think why does mosquito protection have to come in a terracotta pot or tin?

“So, I set about creating an opulent outdoor candle that could be prominently featured on a table but still do the job it was intended for – to help keep mozzies away! I spent a lot of time researching different waxes and testing different essential oil combinations that resulted in our signature scent, which doesn’t contain citronella.”

There are two sizes in the range, the Signature Series holding a 350gram candle and the Miniature Series, made to fit a 50gram oversized tealight candle. The candles are made using a beeswax and soy wax blend which is durable and 100 percent natural. Each candle features a double wood wick, enhancing the candlelight experience.

“Every timber candle vessel is unique as they are hand-crafted by a local, Brisbane artisan woodworker. The Fraser and the Yamba designs are available in the three wood selections and in both size options, so there is a lot of choice for people. But because of our production process and materials no two Zanzara candle holders will ever be the same!” Ms Codd proudly explained.

Zanzara Luxury Outdoor Candles are sustainably sourced, chemical free and 100 percent natural. They do not have any DEET, paraffins or petroleum.
