Twanny Farrugia, a blind Maltese born gentleman living in the Melbourne suburb of Springvale, is the second longest surviving kidney transplant survivor in Australia. He has regained his independence due to OrCam MyEye 2.0, an assistive technology device which helps him read, manage his myriad of meds and navigate his retirement village without crashing into too many walls (his words).
In this extended lockdown period, his independence is even more vital.
The story is inspiring as is Twanny. He’s about to purchase OrCam Read with NDIS - he just loves what technology can do for him.
OrCam products are available from Vision Australia and their not-for-profit partner, Quantum Reading Learning Vision.
