Announcement posted by MP Tax 12 Aug 2020
Melbourne-based
accounting and consulting firm, MP Tax and Business Solutions
is encouraging small businesses in Victoria, affected by the new Stage 4
COVID-19 restrictions, to seek professional advice to help them navigate the
current crisis.
The
Victorian Government announced in July that the ‘Stay at Home’ mandate would be
reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire for an initial six
weeks to help slow the spread of coronavirus in Victoria.
However
this stay at home order was expanded to a full Stage 4 lockdown on August 2nd.
The
news came as a devastating blow to many businesses within the metropolitan
area, such as bars, cafes and indoor gyms, which having only recently reopened,
are now forced to close their doors to customers once again.
Businesses
within the metropolitan area affected by these restrictions are now eligible
for an additional one-off business grant of $10,000 as part of the Government’s
COVID-19 Business Support Fund – Expansion Program. The application window will
close on 14th of September.
MP
Tax and Business Solutions provides advice and services across a range of
financial matters, ranging from tax returns and consulting, through to
corporate management and estate planning. The company’s deep knowledge and
experience, combined with its team of trained accounting experts, mean that it
is perfectly positioned to provide support and guidance for those businesses
that are impacted by the latest restrictions.
Speaking
about the Government’s business grant, MP Tax & Business Solutions Founder
and Managing Director, Michael Paraskevas, said:
“While
the new business grant and COVID-19 support fund announced by the Victorian
Government is a welcome lifeline for many small businesses affected by this
crisis, we are finding that many are not fully aware of the support available
to them or are simply struggling to make accurate business forecasts for the
next year, due to the uncertainty of the current situation.
“At
MP Tax and Business Solutions, our highly skilled team are trained to keep
up-to-date with the latest tax law and developments in business management
practices, legislation and technology, meaning that we are superbly positioned
at this time to support clients with our extensive knowledge and experience.
“This
really is an unprecedented time for Melbourne and the world, so we would
strongly encourage any small business looking for impartial advice or support
to get in contact with us and see how we can help.”
