Announcement posted by MP Tax 12 Aug 2020

Melbourne-based accounting and consulting firm, MP Tax and Business Solutions is encouraging small businesses in Victoria, affected by the new Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions, to seek professional advice to help them navigate the current crisis.

The Victorian Government announced in July that the ‘Stay at Home’ mandate would be reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire for an initial six weeks to help slow the spread of coronavirus in Victoria.

However this stay at home order was expanded to a full Stage 4 lockdown on August 2

The news came as a devastating blow to many businesses within the metropolitan area, such as bars, cafes and indoor gyms, which having only recently reopened, are now forced to close their doors to customers once again.

Businesses within the metropolitan area affected by these restrictions are now eligible for an additional one-off business grant of $10,000 as part of the Government’s COVID-19 Business Support Fund – Expansion Program. The application window will close on 14
