8-Week Mindfulness Workshop (Includes the complete MBCT)

Learning mindfulness in this time of social, COVID19 and emotional upheaval can help you change habits of mind and heart so you can respond wisely in times of upset. Not just for stress, this workshop brings together mindfulness and science of mind using the best of mind science.  That’s why this is also called Mindfulness Based - Cognitive Therapy, or MB-CT. 

 

No experience necessary. You will learn mindfulness step-by-step over the course of 8 weeks.  Even if you already meditate, you may find this MBCT method quite beneficial. You will learn skills you can use for a lifetime. You will learn by practicing

mindfulness daily as well as from weekly classes, using a method developed at Oxford, Cambridge and the University of Toronto, researched and developed over 20 years.

 

MBCT uses mindful meditation, yoga-like stretches and body awareness, engaged discussion and home practices (homework!) for your use every day, in order to help you learn mindfulness.

 

This is mindfulness for a purpose: you will learn how to sit with your experience. You will find that “sitting with” can dis-empower powerful thoughts and emotions.You will learn how dis-empowering them can give you a fresh perspective and a renewed

sense of choice and power over your situation. You will learn how this simple shift can change your life, long-term as well as moment-by-moment.

 

We have learned from 12 years of workshops on how to teach this best. And we have learned from the body of knowledge, the science of mind, on which Cognitive Behavioral Therapy  (CBT) is based.

·      Includes All of Mindfulness Based - Cognitive Therapy (MB-CT)

·      Required Orientation (free): Monday, September 28 or 30, 7:45 pm - 10:00 pm ET (US) 

·      If the Orientation date is not possible, you may speak with an instructor in the week before the first formal session.

·      8-Week Workshop: Mondays, October 5 - November 23, 7:45 pm - 10:00 pm ET 

·      1-Day Retreat Session: Saturday, November 21, 9:30 am - 5 pm
