New software gives SMEs front and back office integration

Announcement posted by Interact Commerce Corporation 23 Jun 2003

Interact Commerce Corporation, makers of the best selling contact management solution ACT!, today launched ACT! Link for QuickBooks throughout Australia, which enables small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to integrate their front office sales function and back office accounting systems.
ACT! Link for QuickBooks allows customer data to be synchronised between the ACT! contact manager (version 6.0) and Quicken?s QuickBooks Pro 2003 accounting software. More than 320,000 SMEs currently use Quicken?s accounting and business management software in Australia.
Using ACT! Link for QuickBooks, information that is critical to the running of every business, such as sales contacts and invoice status, can be automatically shared between the front and back office giving sales and finance managers a holistic view of operations.
ACT! Link for QuickBooks also eliminates the time-consuming and unproductive task of duplicate data entry, by automatically updating changes made to an organisation?s contacts management or accounting systems.
Craig Young, Managing Director of Interact Commerce Corporation (Asia Pacific) explained there has already been considerable interest in the product.
?At a small business roadshow we recently attended with QuickBooks, we received some really positive feedback on the product from existing ACT! and QuickBooks users,? Craig said. The general feeling among SMEs was ?finally someone?s developed a solution that will help us grow our business!? A significant number of ACT! customers use QuickBooks so we?re confident the marriage of these two software solutions will deliver real business benefits.?
Greg Wilkinson, CEO for Quicken Australia agrees saying the streamlining of business process will make life easier and more profitable for small and medium businesses.
?ACT! and QuickBooks will not only help businesses improve productivity by eliminating double entry, they will also help SMEs comply with the privacy legislation which requires all databases to be up to date,? Greg said. ?Overall, these products will help free up SMEs and give them more time to focus on the bigger things. Sales managers can focus on selling, finance managers can focus on the books and business owners can concentrate on growing the business.?
ACT! Link for QuickBooks works in conjunction with the Australian and New Zealand versions of QuickBooks Pro 2003. It is one of a series of accounting integration tools from Interact, helping the company achieve its quest of providing total business solutions for SMEs.
