Wolters Kluwer celebrates milestone 45th Anniversary Edition for Australian Family Law Cases

Announcement posted by Wolters Kluwer 30 Sep 2020

Wolters Kluwer Australia today announced the release of its 45th Anniversary special edition Australian Family Law Cases title. Released as part of its highly renowned CCH Books publications, this title reflects the most significant family law cases since the commencement of the Family Law Act in Australia in 1975.

The Honourable Chief Justice William Alstergren of the Family Court of Australia and Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia officially launched the 45th Australian Family Law Cases edition during an online event hosted by Wolters Kluwer on 30 September 2020.

“This initiative to harness the most significant family law cases over the past 45 years into an easy to access single edition supports the needs for the modern law practitioner,” said Chief Justice Alstergren. "It is crucial that our legal experts lead the way on analysing those cases that should be included as key reference material for practitioners today. Next-generation experts need to know these judgements and the details behind them as they critically support Australian families’ legal obligations.”

This watershed collection of 60 family law cases was compiled by a specialist case selection panel, led by the Honourable Deputy Chief Justice Robert McClelland of the Family Court of Australia,  together with additional legal experts, including the Honourable Justice Murray Robert Aldridge, the Honourable Justice Ann Margaret Ainslie-Wallace, the Honourable Justice Judith Maureen Ryan and Ms Jacky Campbell, Partner, Forte Family Lawyers Melbourne, and the Wolters Kluwer in-house legal team.

Also speaking at the virtual launch was CEO for the Family Court of Australia, David Pringle. “We congratulate Wolters Kluwer for working with the legal fraternity to compile this significant series of family law cases into one central resource. It’s important to have easy access to crucial cases and rulings that influence legal outcomes.”

The 45th edition of Australian Family Law cases is considered to be the most authoritative case law on 30 different family law topics. Each case contains a headnote and full judgment, making this Anniversary Edition an essential guide for all lawyers (including barristers), government, courts and forensic accountants.

"Collaboration delivers stronger outcomes, and in this instance, we believe we have raised the bar once again for Australia's legal profession and industry. With support from outstanding family law experts and champions of change, we have been able to build a resource that will no doubt become ‘the resource’ for family law case topics,” said Izzy Silva, Managing Director of Wolters Kluwer APAC, thanking the committee and the Wolters Kluwer in-house legal content team for setting a new benchmark.

The 45th Anniversary Edition for Australian Family Law Cases is available from the Wolters Kluwer CCH book website at https://shop.wolterskluwer.com.au/items/10078961-0014S.
