AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS BOOK OF THE YEAR WINNER ANNOUNCED

Announcement posted by Smart WFM 26 Nov 2020

Sydney, Nov 26, 2020 -- The 2020 Smart WFM Australian Business Book Awards finalists, category winners and “Book of The Year” were announced last night during  a virtual Awards ceremony.

Co-Founder of the Awards, Andrew Griffiths said, “We are extremely pleased with how the Awards evolved in 2020. Clearly it’s an abnormal year on many levels, but entries were up by 20% and the calibre of the books was very high.

“The awards overall were a great success, coming a long way in a short time, with both a Platinum sponsor in 2020, Smart WFM, and a $10,000 donation being made to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. We also feel that 2021 will see the Australian Business Book Awards being even bigger with many new authors taking advantage of down time during COVID-19 to write their books.”

The 2020 Smart WFM Australian Business Book Awards were established to recognise new and aspiring authors. There are 12 categories in total and 21 judges charged with determining the winner for each category and the overall “Book of the Year”.

Platinum sponsor of the ABBAs is digital transformation consultancy, Smart WFM. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of that company is Jarrod McGrath, himself an author having written The Digital Workforce, a guide to successful digital workforce management.

“Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Australian Business Book Awards,” said McGrath. “Through your books you have shown professionalism, passion and purpose, and a generosity of spirit in your willingness to share your expertise with fellow Australians.

“There’s no better way to learn than from someone’s real-world experience and then add to that knowledge and pay it forward. You are doing just that. The ABBAs are only two years old but already showing remarkable value to authors and to the Australian economy. Ongoing partnering with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation is further extending that reach and community. Well done.”

The 2020 Australian Business Book of the Year award was won by author Zoë Routh and her book PEOPLE STUFF.
