College selected Blackboard Learn Ultra to deliver flexible online learning to its students

[CAVITE], PHILIPPINES, 14 December, 2020 – Blackboard Inc., a leading EdTech software and solutions company, today announced that St. Dominic College of Asia has selected the company’s leading cloud learning management system (LMS), Blackboard Learn, as its first-ever LMS to support students and faculty. After a thorough review of the most relevant LMSs in the market, the College determined that Blackboard Learn was the best solution to further develop its online learning environment and drive academic success.

St. Dominic College of Asia is focused on investing in an LMS to provide its students with a mature digital learning environment to remain competitive with larger and more established institutions in the region. The college was immediately drawn to the dynamic features of Blackboard Learn including its ease of use, compatibility with an outcomes-based education, and integration capabilities with other academic tools. Blackboard Learn will replace Google Classroom as the main learning platform for the college.

“We are proud to partner with St. Dominic College of Asia as they progress to the next stage in their digital journey,” said Philip Murray, Regional Vice President of Asia at Blackboard.  “Blackboard Learn is the right foundation to modernize the legacy IT landscape for this institution and we look forward to working with them in meeting the changing demands of students and their staff with a robust solution now and into the future.”

St. Dominic College of Asia is leveraging Blackboard’s next-generation SaaS-based LMS, Blackboard Learn with the Ultra experience, which delivers a simpler, more powerful teaching and learning experience.

“We initially approached the top three LMS providers to assess the solution that was the best fit for our institution,” said Dr. Mary Nellie T. Roa, Vice President of Academic Affairs at St. Dominic College of Asia. “Based on the high degree of customer satisfaction and first-hand feedback on the rich features and capabilities of Blackboard Learn, the decision to appoint Blackboard was easy and one that I’m confident it will serve our students well.”
