Sydney, Australia – 21 December 2020 - Brother International Australia, has launched a new range of sewing machines designed to enhance the consumer’s sewing experience, providing them with the power, durability and ease of use they need to tackle their next sewing adventure.

The Extra Tough range is built for customers wanting the confidence that their sewing machine has the power and grunt they need for their projects, whether that’s home furnishings, dressmaking, costumes or kidswear. Brother’s FS80X and FS60X sewing machines take heavy duty sewing seriously - from the metal frame interior to the powerful computerised motor, they are ready to sew the tough stuff. They’re also easy to use, with modern features like needle threading and button operated functions such as start and stop sewing, making them ideal for all levels of sewing experience!

“Interest in heavy duty sewing machines continues to grow, and these new Extra Tough machines will certainly appeal to sewists looking for a durable machine with the power to take heavier fabrics and multiple thicknesses”, said Julia Springbett, Marketing Manager (Sewing and Craft/DTG) at Brother International Australia.

“With sewing enjoying a rise in popularity this year and many new sewists looking to purchase their first sewing machine, investing in a solid machine that is easy to use but also has the power and features to grow with them, whatever they want to sew in the future, is a smart choice.”

The newly released line-up includes two powerful computerised sewing machines: The FS60X and the FS80X. Both machines can handle heavy weight fabrics with ease, with the ability to stitch through up to eight layers of denim.* This is complemented by a number of features suitable for versatile sewing needs, from beginner to heavy duty projects.

  • The Brother FS60X Sewing Machine comes with 60 adjustable stitches, 7 one-step buttonholes.
  • The Brother FS80X Sewing Machine comes with 80 adjustable stitches, 8 one-step buttonholes and additional accessories, including a finger guard for added safety.
