Announcement posted by Letz Live 30 Apr 2021

An excited group of Australian gap year participants landed in New Zealand this week thanks to Letz Live.

With the opening of the Trans-Tasman bubble, an excited group of Australian gap year participants landed in New Zealand this week thanks to Letz Live.

When the bubble was announced just a few weeks ago, those who had applied from across Australia including Sydney, Tamworth, Adelaide and the Gold Coast, packed their bags and got ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

Nick Hare, Managing Director and Founder of Letz Live says, “The opening of the bubble between Australia and New Zealand is a great step forwards for those looking to live and work abroad. Many of our participants had made the decision to do a gap year before the pandemic and had to put their plans on hold while waiting for travel to resume. Now that this is possible it’s great to be able to offer them a fantastic program in New Zealand.”

During pandemic Letz Live have continued to operate, helping those looking for a Gap Year or Working Holiday to plan their journey as travel resumes.

Letz Live places applicants in a boarding school where they will live and work as an assistant, enjoying the weekends and holidays to travel.

Arriving in New Zealand on Tuesday, the group completed a two day induction before heading to their schools.

On this induction they had a training session conducted by Richard Stokes from the Australian Boarding Schools Association.

Richard says, “Whilst it’s been a long time coming, it’s nice to see the green shoots of grass sprouting through. With the opening of the Trans-Tasman bubble we can now put a plan in place for the future of Gap Year programs.”

The new gap year arrivees also embarked on an exclusive day trip thanks to Contiki, the #1 youth travel brand.

The tour with Contiki was the company’s first international trip since the pandemic - where they visited Waitomo Caves and The Hobbiton Movie Set.

“We are extremely excited to welcome the Australian travellers into New Zealand, and to once again see a group of young people come together through travel,” says Louise Levesque, General Marketing Manager of Contiki in New Zealand.

Since 2005, Letz Live have created overseas Gap Year and Working Holiday experiences for thousands of young people.

Applications are open for July 2021 and January 2022 Gap Years in New Zealand.
