Do you remember that day back in 1984 – 23 years ago – when you first saw a Macintosh? All we had prior to that was dull DOS. I mean, it was like a religious experience. Finally, someone figured out how to put a really intuitive user experience in a personal computer. Forget that Mac only sells around 8 per cent of the total PCs today and Microsoft provides PC users with a very good user experience with Windows Vista. The fact is that the Macintosh set the standard for what the personal computer user experience was going to be for the next 30 years. We’re now sitting at the end of the “dull OS age” in cell phones. Here’s why iPhone is actually more important than the introduction of the Macintosh and will set the standard likely for the next 30 years.
