Startup BatNav specialising in big battery engineering raising 750k

Announcement posted by THe Media Specialist 24 May 2021

BatNav growing player in industry forecast to be worth US$211 billion in 2026
Australian startup company BatNav is transforming Big Battery engineering with artificial intelligence to accelerate the global renewable energy shift and is raising 750k in its first crowd funding capital raising endeavour in energy storage market growing to US$211 billion in 2026.

BatNav utilises artificial intelligence to make making the purchase of Big Batteries simple and aims to accelerate the green energy transition and disrupt the engineering services industry.

BatNav helps businesses buy batteries and navigate energy storage technologies that support clean, affordable, reliable, and secure energy. They provide energy storage technologies which is customised using AI and deliver ten times faster energy by connecting world-class expertise online.

A disruptive company that strikes the balance between human and artificial intelligence. BatNav has initiated its first equity crowdfunding campaign on fundraising platform Birchal,

https:www.birchal.com/company/batnav to fund the next phase of growth.

The purpose of the capital raising is to secure a strategic partnership with global engineering company or energy utility; start a patent application for our invention and build new product and enter the C&I market.

"Through Equity Crowdfunding, BatNav is making investment in renewables and energy storage more accessible for everyone. We're aligned in their mission." comments Alan Crabbe founder of Birchal.

BatNav is the first company to innovate the conversion of engineering knowledge into an automated and customisable solution. Not previously been conceived or delivered by competitors.

Projects around the world grapple with poorly written, inaccurate, and slowly delivered specifications for engineered materials. Engineers and project professionals are challenged with doing their best at preparing specifications, ITPs, Quality Management Plans etc. catering for rapidly changing and evolving markets.

This is not a new problem and the waste and expense are hidden within massive project budgets and long schedules.

“I grew up in a family that ran a small business where the difference between efficiency and inefficiency did not just produce cash flow but was also morally wrong. The waste and inefficiency I saw in projects was simply not acceptable for me. And the engineers doing the work hated it too.” founder, Dave West explains.

"Energy is one of the biggest industries on the planet, and the energy transition one of the biggest challenges in history. Renewables are affordable and deployable, but energy storage is not. And we need enough energy storage to cover the times when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow over days, weeks and even seasons.  Numerous and emerging energy storage technologies exist and will be needed to meet the demand. BatNav is uniquely positioned in this rapidly growing industry with a technology that scales to the demand." states Dave West, Founder.

Why focus on energy storage? Because energy storage is critical for the transition from fossil fuels to renewables. Without sufficient energy storage, producers of renewable energy sell power below cost and erode asset value. As the percentage of renewable energy (solar and wind) increases, energy storage is essential for reliable supply of electricity.

The estimated value of the energy storage market Estimates range from US$5 billion in 2020 and growing to US$11.4 billion in 2025 for battery energy storage to US$145 billion in 2018 for the total energy storage market growing to US$211 billion in 2026.

The engineering services industry to support project teams and operators is also likely to increase correspondingly.

Dave West, Founder, saw a better way of delivering engineering and procurement services to the energy storage industry.

BatNav was founded in 2018 as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company. Partnering with experts to codify knowledge into curated databases, then reconstruct the curated knowledge into custom, human-readable written documents in seconds, unlike human consultants that take weeks or months.

Offering a subscription-based SaaS with online expert support and additional services to help buyers derisk procurement and maximize asset value. BatNav plans to generate revenue from Buyers and Sellers.

BatNav’s first product was released in late 2020, CellEngineer to help buyers of Big Batteries assess sellers objectively, negotiate better prices and terms, and assure quality during the procurement of a Big Battery.

It’s an easy to use simple online web application available 24/7 delivering perfectly formatted engineering and quality assurance documents delivered in a fraction of time. Empowering buyers with knowledge and expertise to get the right Big Battery at the right price,” Dave West states,

BatNav is poised to demonstrate the ability to achieve orders of magnitude improvements in efficiency and productivity.
