Warrp boosts local connectivity with new “Nearby” feature

MELBOURNE, Victoria, June 29, 2021 - Australia’s newest pre-owned goods marketplace has released a brand-new Nearby feature encouraging users to connect locally and enjoy the benefit of fast access to hundreds of items and rewards.

Warrp users can now access the carousel screen view to find other users nearby, as well as any existing Trusted Partner offers and recently listed items on the platform.

Co-Founder and CEO, Matthey Ng, said the new feature was designed to promote a community network approach so often lost in ecommerce applications.

“Online shopping can be very lifeless and that’s not what Warrp is about, so we’re encouraging engagement and togetherness with the app’s Nearby upgrade,” said Mr Ng.

“It is a geo-targeted feature accessible directly from the home screen to quickly find and connect with other users, search local businesses to redeem partner offer credits, and see recently listed items close by.

“You can ‘friend’ other nearby users to be notified when they list an item, and we’re working towards launching a notification option for new nearby partner offers when they go live on the app.”

Warrp is fostering a safe, secure and easy-to-use pre-owned goods marketplace platform with community at its core.

A new Facebook group has been launched to support safe locations for marketplace transactions – Melbourne Safe Meetup & Pickup – based on Warrp’s world-leading Safe Meetup and Pickup delivery option.

Co-Founder and CTO, Roman Granovskyi, said the open Facebook Group was a public recommendation page to help users of any online marketplace platform find safe locations to drop off or pick up their goods.

“This is a group designed to support what Warrp already offers its users, which is an approved network of Trusted Partner hospitality, retail or other businesses.

“Although users of other platforms can’t access Warrp’s partner offers at these locations, such as free or discounted deals, they can access these businesses to complete their transactions without risking it at their own home or another person’s place of residence.

“In the end it’s about security and peace of mind, and everyone deserves that opportunity, so this group is a great way to encourage safe transactions.

“We’ll look to expand this offering with other Facebook groups for marketplace shoppers outside of Melbourne as well.”
