prefabAUS appoints Hamann Communication for Australia’s first Hybrid Conference - Merging to Mainstream - Offsite: Building Blocks for a sustainable future.

Hamann Communication is pleased to announce its appointment by prefabAUS, the industry hub for building prefabrication across Australia, for public relations activity for the forthcoming conference Merging to Mainstream - Offsite: Building Blocks for a sustainable future.  The conference takes place 7-8 September 2021 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event will be a "hybrid conference", possibly the first of its kind in Australia, offering attendees the option of in-person or online attendance, which is particularly important with the uncertainty of COVID restrictions.

“We are looking forward to working with Hamann Communication on promoting this unique hybrid event to promote awareness of off-site building to a wider audience, and sharing the industry’s transition to mainstream building,” says Brooke Adams of prefabAUS.

The conference will focus on the offsite or prefabricated building industry's increasing acceptance into the mainstream construction sector. Once considered a novelty, off-site building is becoming increasingly accepted as a fast, sustainable and cost-effective way to build homes and commercial buildings.

In-person attendees will have the opportunity to network, share digital business cards for a tailored event contact list, have digital notes app functionality and experience exhibitor stalls. Digital attendees will have access to all speakers through virtual stage access. They will be able to participate in Q&As and live polls and access prefabAUS' live conference app for an immersive digital experience.

Most significantly, if there are COVID travel restrictions, the conference can still go ahead as planned.

“I am delighted to be appointed by prefabAUS, having long been a fan of the benefits of off-site building,” says Fiona Hamann, Principal of Hamann Communication. “It is especially exciting that regardless of what the pandemic can throw at us in terms of border closures or lockdowns, the hybrid event will still go ahead.”

prefabAUS already has an impressive list of speakers and topics (with more to be announced), including:

Ewelina Wozniak-Szpakiewicz - Chief Executive Officer at DMDmodular Ltd, Poland, which offers high-quality volumetric modular solutions focusing on the housing and hospitality industries.

Ben Kehoe  - Author of Innovation in Australia: Creating Prosperity for Future Generations, has four decades of senior business leadership and advisory experience. He will explore innovation in Australia based on the theories he outlines in his book.

Mike King - One of John Holland's most experienced Project Directors, will explore a case study for modular building at Ravenhall Correctional Centre.

David Haller - National Operations Manager of the Masterplanned Communities construction division at Mirvac Group, who will provide an in-depth view of the many projects Mirvac has delivered utilising various prefabricated elements.

Greg Hammond - Assistant Secretary of the Project Management Branch, Overseas Property Office and Services, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), which recently delivered the new prefabricated chancery to support the Embassy of Australia in Rabat, Morocco.

Tim Newman  - General Manager at Timber Building System (TBS), which has grown from a startup to a significant player in prefabricated buildings.

Tamika Smith - Founder of My Bella Casa, Founding Director of TSR Property Solutions, and Founding Executive Chair of Top 100 Women. Tamika will discuss the offsite manufacture of affordable housing, which has long been a priority for State and Federal governments alike.
