HOTA GALLERY EXTENDS SECOND MAJOR EXHIBITION

Announcement posted by HOTA 21 Sep 2021

In an update to the 2021 HOTA Gallery program, the Home of the Arts has announced the extension of its second major exhibition – Lyrical Landscapes: The Art of William Robinson – until October 17.

Lyrical Landscapes: The Art of William Robinson, celebrates one of Australia’s greatest living artists and shows Robinson’s Creation Series, produced over 16 years, presented together for the first time ever at the HOTA Gallery.

Curated by former Governor-General and close friend of the artist, Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO, this is the second major exhibition at the HOTA Gallery that highlights the artist’s spiritual connection to the natural world and his love of classical music.

The exhibition will now run through until Sunday 17 October, allowing more time for the public to view this impressive exhibition of iconic works.

HOTA Chair Emeritus Professor Ned Pankhurst shares the update to the HOTA Gallery program.

“We are thrilled to be extending Lyrical Landscapes, curated by Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO. These astonishing works from William Robinson have to be seen to be appreciated – expect to see the Gold Coast hinterland through the eyes of one of Australia’s greatest artists,” he said.

“So far the HOTA Gallery has welcomed more than 75,000 visitors and we want to ensure that as many Gold Coasters and visitors can experience the HOTA Gallery program.”

“As HOTA continues to be nimble in its response to COVID, Contemporary Masters from New York will move to 2023, when we are more confident that interstate and international visitors can experience this world exclusive exhibition of Warhol, Basquiat, Koons and more.”

“We will also be announcing our new summer program in November,” he added.
