Healthengine launches prescription medication delivery with Chemist2U

Announcement posted by HealthEngine 04 Oct 2021

Initial rollout in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with more locations adding in coming weeks

Prescription delivery is coming to Australia’s leading consumer healthcare platform as Healthengine and Chemist2U partner on this new offering. The new Script Delivery will allow Healthengine users to upload an e-script or paper script via their mobile phone and get same-day delivery.

Script Delivery will launch in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney first and additional capital cities and major regional town centres will be added in the coming weeks to provide nationwide coverage and offer free delivery for all prescription medication orders.

More than *53 percent of people leave the GP with a prescription in hand. For those in lockdown, digital natives who prefer online purchasing and time-poor people as well as people with lack of transportation, this new solution delivers convenience and time savings, along with the needed medication. As telehealth use increases, Script Delivery plays an important role in closing the virtual journey as the patient sees the doctor online, receives an e-script and is now able to have the prescription fulfilled and delivered without leaving the house.

The service can be ordered through a link on  www.healthengine.com.au or the Healthengine app. In the coming months, the service will cover a national footprint reaching ~80% of the population in Australia. Healthengine and Chemist2U are working with a network of local community pharmacies to fulfill the prescription medication orders.

“As we help people navigate their healthcare, we’re excited about offering a new service that supports Healthengine users after they leave their doctor with a paper prescription or e-script in hand,” said Dr Marcus Tan, Healthengine CEO, co-founder and medical director. “With Chemist2U, we’re now able to support another part of the Healthengine user’s healthcare journey and help people post-appointment through Script Delivery.”

“At Chemist2U we are delighted to be partnering with Healthengine via our national network of community pharmacies as it will provide a tremendous service for Healthengine users. This partnership is a natural extension of Chemist2U’s vision to help make the consumer experience with pharmacy both more digital and convenient,” said Dr Matthew Cullen, Chemist2U Founder and CEO.
