The Filthy Words Spinning The Poetry World on Its Head

Announcement posted by Ponderings Publishing 13 Oct 2021

Verse 1: “Those who are called to lead an exceptional life who ignore their vocation are hypnotised into a state of need and fall blindly into the daily scrum of the filthy normal. We are all exceptional.”

Striking right? These are the opening words of KB Eliza’s debut into prose Vignettes of the Possibly Dying.

The book is an eclectic mix of poetry that seems to have captured the hearts, frustrations and minds of readers all over the globe. The author has a following on Instagram and Facebook, with more than 16,000 on Facebook alone, who share her posts daily. A Rubiks Cube for the mind, Vignettes appears to be conflicting many.

"Vignettes of the Possibly Dying is a new favourite and like nothing I have ever read before. It brought much comfort, intrigue and at times challenged me. I dare not become part of "the scrum of the filthy normal"! Every time I flip through and read a chapter I glean something new. KB Eliza's writing is alchemy for the soul and I am unashamedly greedy for more." says Katie from Melbourne- Booktopia Reader

Indiereader Professional reviewer Anthony Aycock says:

"Maybe the best way to describe this book is a collection of prose poems, filled with imagery, bitterness, and wonder. The bitterness isn’t overwhelming, and the wonder isn’t aimless. The two combine to deliver a message of determination. It has a narrator who sees things clearly, acknowledging the world’s pain without succumbing to fear of it. In that sense, the book does inspire. Emily Dickinson wrote “Tell all the truth but tell it slant,” and Eliza takes this advice to heart." Dickinson created in her writing a distinctively elliptical language for expressing what was possible but not yet realized.

A thoroughly enchanting set of thoughts and feelings with a warm, soothing feel to them. Reading this book is like putting on comfy slippers. Highly recommended!’ – The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

Women writers are dominating Australian literature more than ever lately. Ms Eliza seems to be no exception to this; her prose was described to me as fluid throughout the entire collection of vignettes freestyle and intricate lines are thought-provoking and gut-wrenching, this month the companion journal was launched to help readers reflect on the Vignettes and write their own.

KB Eliza's second book "Quest of the Possibly Dying" to be released in time for Christmas, is a collection of short stories, a treasure trove, a rabbit warren of twists and turns where nothing is what it seems, says one ARC reader. If it's anything like Vignettes it will be sure to win some hearts.

With a steady growing following on Facebook with 16,000 + new followers in just months, the wordsmith is resonating with thousands of people around the world and featured on UK Talk Radio and iHeart-Atlanta Radio USA.
