Cohort Solutions more than doubles growth and secures a place on the BRW 100 Fast Starters List



Australia, 28 October 2015: Holistic education services provider, Cohort Solutions’ innovative range of products delivering value to international students, education agents and providers, has secured number 36 on the BRW 100 Fast Starters List for 2015. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Brisbane, Cohort Solutions has generated more than 133 per cent growth in 2015 and over AUD$6.5 million in revenue.

CEO of Cohort Solutions, Mark Fletcher, said: “It’s taken some time for customers to hear about our products, understand how they work and grasp how they can benefit from them, then finally grow in confidence. International students have become accustomed to having little or no option when it comes to high value purchases like tuition fees and health insurance, which are among our key offerings.”    

Cohort Solutions currently serves customers in 152 countries worldwide and is continuing to expand, with a new office in New Zealand having just opened for business.  

“Expanding into new markets brings a fresh set of challenges and internal resourcing requirements, but it’s all part of our vision of providing access to the estimated 4.5 million international students that study worldwide,” Mr Fletcher added.   

Country Manager of Cohort Solutions in New Zealand, Guy St Clair, is confident the New Zealand market will serve as a huge growth opportunity for the company.

Mr St Clair commented: “International education is New Zealand's fifth largest export industry, and the government has set the sector a goal of doubling its revenue to NZ$5 billion by 2025. Cohort's expansion into New Zealand is perfectly timed to meet this massive increase in demand. Whilst the market in New Zealand is different to Australia, there are many synergies that we can leverage to ensure speed to market of our products, with a big drive for the first quarter of 2016.”

Cohort Solutions’ products can collectively save students in excess of AUD$11,000 per semester. Its product offering includes a payment platform, health insurance comparison, a mobile sim card, a concierge upon arrival and short-term accommodation. A student recruitment and agent management system, Cohortflow, was also recently introduced providing support to education agents and providers.
